Interface Overview

Learn the main parts of the Handrive interface.

Main Layout​

Handrive's interface consists of three main areas: Sidebar, Header, and Main Content.

Handrive Dashboard

The left sidebar contains:

Connection Status​

A colored indicator next to the logo shows your connection status:

  • 🟢 Green - Connected and online
  • 🟡 Yellow - Reconnecting
  • 🔴 Red - Offline/disconnected

New Button​

Create new shares or add contacts using the + New dropdown.

All Shares​

Quick access to view all your shares in one place.

My Shares​

Your locally created shares appear here with a purple drive icon.

Contact Sections​

Each contact you add gets a section showing their shares (with a cyan globe icon).

Profile Menu​

Click your avatar at the bottom for:

  • Profile - Edit your name and avatar
  • Settings - Change theme and language
  • About - Version info and logs
  • Logout - Sign out

The top header provides:

  • Sidebar Toggle - Show/hide the sidebar
  • Search Bar - Find files across your current share
  • View Mode - Switch between grid and list view
  • Sort Options - Sort by name, size, or date
  • Theme Toggle - Switch between light and dark mode

Main Content Area​

This is where you browse files and folders:

  • Breadcrumb Navigation - Shows your current location, click to navigate
  • File Grid/List - Your files and folders
  • Action Bar - Appears when files are selected (download, copy, delete, etc.)

The bottom bar shows:

  • Current folder's file and folder count
  • Active transfer progress (when transfers are in progress)

View Modes​

Grid View​

Files displayed as cards in a grid. Good for visual browsing, especially with images.

List View​

Files in a detailed list with columns for name, size, and modified date. Better for managing many files.

Switch between views using the toggle button in the header.
