Creating an Account

Sign up for Handrive using Google or email authentication.

Sign-In Options​

Handrive offers two ways to sign in:

Option 1: Continue with Google​

  1. Click Continue with Google
  2. Select your Google account
  3. Grant Handrive permission to access your basic profile info
  4. You'll be signed in automatically

This is the fastest way to get started.

Option 2: Email One-Time Password (OTP)​

  1. Enter your email address
  2. Click Continue
  3. Check your email for a verification code
  4. Enter the 6-digit code in the app
  5. You're signed in!
note

The verification code expires after a few minutes. If it expires, request a new one.

Your Profile​

After signing in, your profile is created with:

  • Email - Your sign-in email (cannot be changed)
  • Name - Optional display name (can be set in Settings)
  • Avatar - Optional profile picture URL (can be set in Settings)

Multiple Devices​

You can sign into Handrive on multiple devices using the same account. Each device maintains its own session.

Your shares and contacts sync across all your devices where you're signed in.

Privacy Note​

On our server, we only store:

  • Your email address (for account verification)
  • Your optional display name and avatar URL

On your device (locally), Handrive stores:

  • Your shares, members, and contacts
  • Your files (in the folders you've shared)

Your files and share metadata are never uploaded to Handrive servers. See Asymmetric Sharing Model for details.
