Common Transfer Issues
"Connecting" for a long time
The connection can't be established. Try:
- Confirm the other person is online
- Check your internet connection
- Wait a moment and retry
Transfer Failed
Common causes:
- Other party went offline
- Network interruption
- Disk full
- File was moved or deleted during transfer
Slow Transfers
Transfer speed depends on:
- Your internet upload/download speed
- The other party's connection speed
- Network conditions
- File sizes
tip
Large files and folders transfer faster as a single operation rather than multiple small transfers.
Best Practices
For Reliable Transfers
- Keep Handrive running during transfers
- Maintain stable internet connection
- Don't close the app during active transfers
- Transfer during off-peak hours for better speed
For Large Transfers
- Transfer during times you'll be online for a while
- Consider breaking very large transfers into batches
- Monitor progress in the transfer history
Queue Behavior
When you initiate multiple transfers:
- They may run in parallel or queue
- Active transfers show real-time progress
- Pending transfers wait their turn
Transfer and Offline
If you go offline during a transfer:
- The transfer pauses or fails
- Reconnect to resume or restart
- Partial files may need to be re-transferred
